SARVAM

My Review : Sarvam

Is this a movie from the director of "Arindhum Ariyamalum ", " Pattiyal " , & " Billa " ?! Shocking to to say the least . Vishnuvardhan , one of the promising young directors has come out with a very superficial product " Sarvam " which was touted to be a romantic-thriller but sadly there is no romance & certainly no thrills . Ayngaran International's pathetic run continues which started off with "Aegan " right upto "Villu " .

Plot of the movie is very interesting to start with but the screenplay has played the spoilsport thus missing out a wonderful opportunity. And to make the matter worse , slipshod direction adds to the woes. It is very tiring to sit through 2 & 1/5 hours in the cinema hall .

What would have been a slick thriller looks washed out in the end with many unwanted irritants .

It is a pathetic followup to "Naan Kadavul " from Aarya while Trisha looks jaded & her acting doesn't pass muster. J.D.Chakravarthy is again wasted in an underwritten , uni-dimentional role . Inderrjeet has nothing much to do either.

Yuvan's songs are not up to the mark while he has not sweated very much as far as BGM goes with liberally using Ilayaraja's music in the 1st half & remixing his own BGM from various other movies in the 2nd.

Nirav Shah has come out unscathed in this otherwise mindless product . He shows his class in the second half.

Whoever is the dialogue writer , he needs a fresh mind . Here each & every dialogue is cliche-ridden & with many inane ones too .Trisha telling "enga driving schoola naan thaan firstakum " is one among many ridiculous ones.

VishnuVardhan has disappointed one & all this time . Time to forget this & get on with his next one.

On the whole ,"Sarvam " is the not the movie to go this summer .

Bottomline : unintended comedy ...

1.5/5
