My review : Run Baby Run

"Run Baby Run " is Mohanlal's Onam release directed by Joshiy. Story , screenplay & dialogues are by Sachi. It is a comical-political-thriller in the backdrop of Media & scramble for "exclusive news" by competing  news channels. 

Movie moves at a very brisk pace that most of the illogicality of the script are made oblivious to take notice. Though it focuses on serious issues the undercurrent of humour is present throughout the movie makes it for a   

enjoyable watch. Though some dialogues which are meant to be humorous turns out downright silly there are many other which make one laugh out loud. 

The story has lots of twists & turns typical of a Malayalam thriller. No point in time the movie lags or looses steam. The love-hate relationship the lead pair shares further enhances the entertainment quotient. But the amount of misogynist dialogues mouthed by an experienced actor like Mohanlal is at many instances off-putting. And how long people are going to make movie in which an angry hero slaps the hapless heroine for what ever the reason may be.

This role is a child's play for Mohanlal. He would do these kind of roles with aplomb even in his half-sleep. Theater goes gung-ho when he croons "Attumanal payayil" which is a rocking number picturized well. Amala Paul is good in her part as a zealous new-reporter. She looks pretty too. Biju Menon rocks in a breezy role. His chemistry with Mohan lal is astounding in this movie. SaiKumar & Siddique does their parts in regular villainous roles.

R.D.Rajasekhar's cinematography enhances the grandeur of the movie. The visuals are good & makes the movie technically sleek & stylish.

Ratheesh Vega is the music director. Only "Attumanal payayil" is there in the movie. Background score is good in patches. 

Joshiy who has penchant for making action movies with political backdrop has gone for less action & more of comedy this time around. With the help of Sachi, who like other new breed of scriptwriters in Malayalam these days who focus on unusual subjects, Joshiy has given a fun-filled entertainer for Mohanlal fans for this Onam. 

On the whole, "Run Baby Run " is a perfect movie to watch for mindless fun & entertainment albiet it is not that great a cinema.
